Susquehanna Headwaters District
Welcome to the Susquehanna Headwaters District!
We are dedicated to providing enriching experiences for youth through scouting programs that promote leadership, outdoor skills, and character development.
About Us
The Susquehanna Headwaters District serves communities in Otsego, Schoharie, and Delaware Counties in upstate New York, offering a variety of scouting programs for boys and girls from kindergarten through high school. Our district is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our Mission
Our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. We strive to develop leaders who are prepared to serve their communities and make a positive impact on the world around them.
Programs:
We offer a wide range of programs designed to meet the needs and interests of youth at every age and stage of their scouting journey.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts is a family-oriented program for boys and girls in grades K-5. Through fun activities and adventures, Cub Scouts develop confidence, teamwork, and a love for the outdoors.
Scouts BSA
Scouts BSA is a program for youth ages 11-17 that focuses on outdoor adventure, leadership development, and personal growth. Scouts have the opportunity to earn merit badges, go camping, participate in community service projects, and more.
Venturing
Venturing is a co-ed program for young adults ages 14-20 that emphasizes adventure, leadership, and service. Venturers plan their own activities and pursue their interests with the support of trained adult advisors.
